2015 UNIUYO SUG Elections Suspended

The circular anouncing the election suspension
The 2015 UNIUYO Student Union Government election has been put on hold. The SUG election which was initially billed to hold on Friday, the 24th of April, 2015 in all the campuses of the University of Uyo, was suspended indefinitely by the School Management.

Announcing the suspension, the University's Registrar Mrs. Edak Umondak via a circular, pointed out that the SUG elections was suspended to enable the School Management conduct investigations into an issue allegedly raised by some students of the University's Faculty of Engineering "to avoid misrepresentation"

It could be recalled that students of the Faculty of Engineering had on Wednesday the 22nd of April, 2015, embarked on a peaceful demonstration over the alleged political marginalization of the Faculty of Engineering in the activities of the University's Student Union Government (SUG), following the disqualification of an SUG presidential candidate and a student of the Faculty of Engineering, Bassey Bassey popularly known as 'Base-B'.

UNIUYO Freshers: Temporary Accommodation

Are you a fresher/new student?

Are you looking for a place to reside, while undergoing your screening/registration exercise?

If yes? Then, here's good news!

Here's Good News!

The Dean of Student Affairs has graciuosly approved for temporary hostel accomodation for freshers.

This arrangement is to help students who are coming from far-away/distant locations, with no place to stay, while undergoing their screening/registration exercise.

This temporary accommodation is FREE and would last until Monday, the 16th of March, 2015.

Freshers are expected to make provisions for their permanent accommodation, before this grace period elapses.

Thanks to the gracious Vice Chancellor and the amiable Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. (Mrs) I.P Solomon.
