Team UNIUYO emerges 2nd at ICRC Africa Moot Court Competition

The University of Uyo Team emerged 2nd at the just-concluded 15th ICRC All African International Humanitarian Law Competition, held in Arusha, Tanzania.

The record-breaking team made up of three final year students of the Faculty of Law: Ubong Samuel Ebong, Kelechi Sunday Ibe and Sechie Solomon Philips, represented Nigeria at the competition; becoming the 1st West African team to reach the finals in 15years. Sechie Philips also emerged the competition's Best Speaker.

The competition was keenly contested by representatives from Zimbabwe, Kenya, Tanzania, South Africa, Ethiopia, Rwanda and Uganda.

It would be recalled that the team emerged Nigeria's flagbearer at the Competition in earlier in September, 2015, after emerging victorious over Law Teams from all other Nigerian Universities.

Inside Uniuyo bids #TeamUNIUYO #TeamNigeria, Congratulations!!
