LAWSAN UNIUYO 2015 inaugural congress holds

The The Law Students Association of Nigeria, University of Uyo Chapter held her 2015 inaugural congress amidst joy and thrills. The LAWSAN congress which was held today Wednesday the 8th of April, 2014 has been described in many quarters as one of the best LAWSAN congresses in the history of the Faculty of Law, University of Uyo.

Addressing the congress, the LAWSAN President Hon. Edidiong Peters, reiterated on the need for Law Students to be law-abiding, while keeping up the age-long tradition of discipline, a core value of the law profession.

He also announced the Freshers Grand Reception scheduled to hold on Friday the 10th of April, 2015; and promised to make the LAWSAN Constitution available to the freshers, to keep them abreast with the ethos of LAWSAN.

The hall erupted in joyous screams following some announcements made by the LAWSAN-001 in fulfillment of some of his campaign promises. Hon. Peters instituted the Inter-Chambers Moot Competition and called for preparations by the various Chambers for the event. This was followed by the incorporation of the ladies into the annual LAWSAN Football Competition.

In the same vein, Hon. Peters also announced a power-supply concession, which will enable overnight-readers study in the Faculty from dusk till dawn; and the planned installation of routers for internet users; which was received by the house with a thunderous applause.

The high-point of the congress came with the donation of an 18-seater Toyota bus to LAWSAN from Friends of Prince Ukpong Akpabio II Worldwide. Presenting the bus to LAWSAN,  Hon. Frank Archibong, and alumnus of LAWSAN-UNIUYO and Chairman, Akwa Ibom State Law Reforms Commission, also reiterated the group's support for the Edidiong-led LAWSAN administration.

Receiving the bus donation on behalf of the faculty, the elated Vice Dean Dr. Imo Udofa, thanked the donors Friends of Prince Ukpong Akpabio II Worldwide for their support to LAWSAN.
