The House of Representative, Students' Union Government, University of Uyo recently held her Legislative Week. The event which lasted from 26th - 30th November, 2014 was tagged "The Role of Parliament in Nation Building".
The 4-day event featured a trip to an Orphanage, Novelty Football Match, Plenary Session, Dinner/Award Night and a Thanksgiving Service. After a trip to the orphanage, the parliamentarians locked horns in a novelty match at the University mini stadium, with the upper chamber emerging victorious.
The glamourous Dinner/Awards Night featured talks by the Dean, Dr. I.P Solomon (representing the Vice Chancellor), Vice Dean & ASUU Chairman, Dr. Aniekan Brown and Dr. Victor Udo, the Senior Special Assistant on Power to the Akwa Ibom State Governor.
Awards of Service were presented to the parliamentarians, as Hon. Antiaobong Akpan & Hon. Joseph Hilary emerged as the best performing lawmakers in the Rt. Hon. Timothy Omodot-led House of Representatives.
